Confident
Scholars
Geelong
Grammar is one of the world’s leading coeducational boarding and
day schools, offering exceptional education to all of its students. From
small beginnings in 1855 when the Anglican Church founded the School with
only 14 boys, it has developed into a multi-campus centre of educational
excellence, attracting students and teachers from throughout Victoria,
Australia and around the world.
The comprehensive and challenging programmes available to
our students create independent and confident scholars; young men and
women of integrity and compassion who will contribute purposefully to
an increasingly interdependent world.
At Geelong Grammar School we focus on development of the
“whole” person – spiritually, emotionally and physically
as well as intellectually. With low student to teacher ratios, our students
are given the opportunity to excel under the expertise and guidance of
our high calibre teachers.
We measure our achievements through theirs.
Academically
we are a non-selective school. We have confidence in our students’
talents, in what can be discovered and in what is possible. We offer our
girls and boys outstanding opportunities and we expect them to be taken.
When they make mistakes, we give them support and guidance.
We insist upon commitment. We value balance and choice.
What we teach them in the classroom matters a great deal.
So do the structures we define and the rules we set – about responsible
conduct and equal opportunity, about individuality and community, against
harassment and drugs and bullying. How our young men and women discover
the future depends upon the humanity of all of the lessons we bring to
them.
Everything we do at Geelong Grammar School counts.
We are proud of our inheritance – of our Anglican
tradition, our vibrant academic life, and the strength of our community.
We trust in the future of each of our young men and women, and in their
capacity to make a difference.
