TAFE NSW is proud to be chosen to train the 1200-strong workforce for Rugby World Cup 2003.

Under contract with the Australian Rugby Union, TAFE NSW will provide training in event leadership and job-specific roles through printed and on-line training guides as well as face-to-face training.

A website, which will be accessed through the ARU’s Rugby World Cup 2003 website www.rugby2003.com.au, will also be developed by TAFE NSW. It will provide volunteers with essential information on the world cup tournament, the venues involved and their individual roles.

TAFE NSW has already gained an international reputation for successfully delivering complex training programs for large sporting events. In one of the largest training projects in the world, TAFE NSW delivered over one million hours of training to the 110,000 “Gamesforce” for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

TAFE NSW, through its international project management arm, TAFE GLOBAL, is playing a major role in preparations for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Together with a local Greek partner, TAFE GLOBAL is developing the Training Master Plan and Action Plan for the games. TAFE GLOBAL has also consulted, through an Australian consortium, on training for infrastructure development for the 15th Asian Games Doha, 2006.
