The MBA Program Tailored For You
With life-long learning a fact of life more and more people
are ensuring that they are fully briefed on postgraduate courses they
feel are appropriate to their needs and circumstances. MBA programs have
become very popular, each program quite different to the next.
The MBA at La Trobe University’s Graduate School of
Management has a broad range of subjects giving students the opportunity
to follow a particular stream eg. human resources management, marketing
and finance or if preferred to study subjects from every steam. The MBA
consists of sixteen subjects with six core subjects and ten elective subjects.
Students can tailor the program to suit their current and future career
needs. The School also has the flexibility of four intakes a year, January,
April, July and September.
The Graduate School of Management offers a dynamic and academically rigorous
education in management skills taught by academic staff with practical
business experience in Australia and internationally. These skills provide
students with the global perspective needed to be successful managers
in the 21st century.
Facilities and services at the School include comprehensive
library facilities, twenty-four hour access to computer laboratories,
sports and recreational facilities and the opportunity to participate
in professional and social clubs. The University also provides access
to world-class medical centre facilities and a dental service.
Other features offered to all students at the School include
the opportunity to take advantage of a career workshop that is available
twice yearly. The Graduate School of Management in partnership with TMP/Hudson
Global Resources present these workshops consisting of two seminars to
assist students in the strategic management of their career. Also available
is the opportunity for students to spend up to two terms abroad at one
of the School’s exchange partners in countries including France,
Norway, Denmark and the USA. Many Australian students cannot normally
(because of work and family commitments) take advantage of the exchange
program so the School is trialling a new approach to the exchange program
by organising a trip to Dijon, France for a three-week intensive two-subject
research subject, ‘Business in Europe’.
