A floral feast awaits you

If you’re a lover of flowers, come to Australia in springtime. Many cities hold flower festivals, and wildflowers burst into bloom across Australia’s southern states.

Particular attractions are Canberra’s Floriade festival, generally held from mid-September to mid-October with more than a million plants on show, and Western Australia’s famous ‘carpet of wildflowers’ between August and October, when large areas of parkland and countryside come alive with flowers. Across the temperate southern states the springtime brings a dazzling display of colour and scent as Australia bursts into bloom; in the tropical north you can enjoy an all-year-round floral feast.
