Jimbour was one of the first stations established when the Darling Downs was opened for European settlement in 1840. Owned by the Russell family since 1923, the heritage-listed Jimbour House was constructed in 1875 and 1876 and stands as a grand reminder of the early pastoral industry of the Darling Downs.

The establishment of a 52-acre vineyard and Cellar Door at Jimbour (located north of Dalby, a small country town within a 3-hour drive from Brisbane) marks a new stage in the development of this historic property.

The current high level of demand and production, in addition to being made under the direction of well known Master of Wine - Peter Scudamore-Smith, is an indication of Jimbour Wines intention to become one of Queensland's major wine producers.

James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion (2005 Edition] has rated Jimbour Wines while over the past 2 years Jimbour Wines has additionally been awarded Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns and Toowoomba.
