The University of New England is a world leader
in the provision of distance-learning MBAs.
The MBA programme at the University of New England
(UNE) is administered by the Graduate School of Business Admin-istration
(GSBA). One of the leading programmes offered in the world through
distance education, the UNE MBA programme began in 1991, and there
are currently 1000 students studying across Australia and in different
parts of the world.
Benchmark programme
The design elements of the MBA have been imitated extensively, including
unit design and the trimester system (three teaching periods per
year). It was Australias first full-fee distance education
MBA programme and continues to be regarded as the benchmark.
Flexibility and quality
Student satisfaction is of the highest level in both their academic
and administrative encounters with the UNEs MBA programme.
The GSBA is committed to the maintenance of maximum flexibility
and quality so that students gain the highest benefit from study,
while being able to accommodate the needs of their own lifestyle
and employment.
Unit selection
Flexibility also exists in students choice of subjects. Students
in the MBA are required to choose six of their 12 units from a group
of foundation units, and may pursue any of the various majors available
or assemble a more general selection of units. There is not a single
compulsory unit. Students select units to study according to their
needs.
All-inclusive fees
The fees charged per unit are all inclusive, covering the cost of
the comprehensive unit materials, textbooks and additional readings,
as well as delivery of materials, additional electronic support
services and the examination of students regardless of their location.
