Sigma Coatings

Global service, international reputation – whatever your need for coatings and antifouling, Sigma Coatings has you covered

Sigma Coatings traces its origins to the early 18th century. Though one of the oldest, it is part of one of the most progressive and innovative coatings manufacturers in the world. Today Sigma Coatings aims to develop, manufacture and supply the world’s finest products and deliver them around the globe with the best customer service. Sigma Coatings has gained an international reputation for reliability of both products and services.

Products, attitude and infrastructure
In markets that are subject to increasingly stringent environmental and legislative constraints, combined with tougher economic challenges, Sigma believes it has the products, attitude and infrastructure in place to guarantee success for its customers and their projects, wherever in the world they may be.

Sigma Coatings has an enviable reputation in the field of tank coatings (Sigma Phenguard is still the tank coating with the widest spectrum of resistance to cargoes carried in ships) and has experience in the wide use of epoxy coatings (with products such as Sigma CM coating and Sigma Multimastic). Recent introductions to the Sigma Coatings marine product range include SigmaPrime, an innovative multipurpose epoxy primer for use at newbuilding stage.

The subject of TBT-free antifouling products is very topical in 2003, and Sigma Coatings has launched a new product based on the polymer technology developed for and used in Sigma AlphaGen, but one that is now focused on deep-sea vessels with drydocking intervals up to three years. This new product, Sigma AlphaTrim, makes economic sense for owners seeking higher performance levels, with the cost advantage further improved by application in only one coat on approved substrates.

Continuing research
Sigma Coatings continues to devote research resources to both environmental issues and to improving and optimising the shipbuilding and ship maintenance process.
